How to Walk Like a Zombie

from wikiHow – The How to Manual That You Can Edit

Make your Halloween costume even more believable, or brush-up on your acting skills and learn to walk like a zombie.

Steps

  1. Think of your body as something you can’t use very well anymore. The undead are uncoordinated.
  2. Walk in a drunken fashion, or some way that is not a straight line. Zombies don’t simply walk; they lumber and stumble.
  3. Move slowly and add brief, random pauses to your walk. The undead aren’t supposed to be moving around. It’s a real zombie struggle to make those legs respond.
  4. Pick some physical deformities that affect your movement and add them to the walk. Did your undead body end up with a broken leg? Drag it behind you. Maybe your shoulder is dislocated, or your arms hang funny and swing without active control as you lumber along.
  5. Think about what your head is doing as you walk. You probably can’t control it very well, either, and it may hang a bit or sit crooked. Move it slowly, too. Those zombie neck muscles don’t have much more strength than a newborn.
  6. Moan at irregular intervals. It was so much more peaceful before you joined the ranks of the undead and you’re not happy about the situation now. Let everyone know how you feel!

Tips

  • Don’t walk like Frankenstein. Your zombie legs aren’t frozen in place like sticks, and your arms don’t stick out in front of you. You just can’t use them very well any more.
